Have you ever heard about mnemonics? This type of memory training can be visual, kinesthetic, or auditory. This kind of training trains the student to construct various associations between easily remembered ideas that can be related to the visual or auditory so that a word or phrase can be remembered. It’s common that a quarter century later this kind of training can assist the student to recall French vocabulary (of the students second language) that was memorized using mnemonic memory training. For example, the student is soon be able to speak fluently in French. Mnemonic memory training allows the student to learn French by associating words with a ‘substitute word system.’ Mnemonics devises a simple, efficient, and effective memory storage and retrieval system. Think of it as a way of finding data in your head as easily as searching the Internet. Mnemonic memory training is a system that means the student will be able to store information in your long-term memory. Learning a new language this way adds a tool to your speech center. Learning mnemonics allows you the ability to organize information in your mind. And, eventually recall it. This type of memory training teaches the student to better organize stored information. Having learned to use this tool it becomes easier to recall. In fact, the longer the data remains in your head, the easier and more accurate it is. Training will show you the correct use of mnemonics. Studying Spanish through mnemonics allows the student to might memorize Spanish words like ‘la viruela,’ associating and imagining a walk into a bar and discovering a beer drinking whale, and very young chicken within a box. With the mnemonics image will link the Spanish word ‘la viruela’ which is the Spanish word for chicken pox. There is much criticism by academics about mnemonics. They indicate that mnemonic training doesn’t teach the student to understand the information. They claim that it is an invalid exercise to attempt to remember anything you don’t understand. They say that the desire to recall anything implies that there should be some understanding of the material. This idea isn’t valid. While other critics claim that mnemonic training is always time-consuming, the truth is, its time consuming. But, would you be more encouraged if it offers a guarantee of success. On the other hand, learning by rote offers the chance of forgetting something after training to memorize it all by rote. The criticism continues with respect to memorizing things by rote. Yes, rote memorization can almost guarantee you’ll not succeed. Mnemonic training has been used successfully in learning more than twenty Spanish words and building a further vocabulary on a daily basis. The student always remembers them. They’re always able to recall their earlier exercises as they continue to build fluency in Spanish or any other language.
