Many of us just do not understand what a degree in humanities is exactly. Another name for it is social sciences, and it is a component of the liberal arts field. Many of the degree programs in this area will actually let you develop your own course of study!What can you actually do with a degree in humanities? Amazing as it may be, in the world of advertising, this can be a big asset by understanding and finding out how people will react to any given product or service. Other areas that this degree is helpful in are the Foreign Service, public administration and journalism.Since, the ability to think critically or “outside the box” is one of the skills developed with this degree, many law schools require humanities as a prerequisite. Understanding current issues and how they have evolved from past situations that society has encountered is continuously used by attorneys. Basically, this is how new laws are formed by establishing precedent cases in our court system.
